Why us

See Who's At The Door.

Three things that separate a doorbell install you forget about from one that keeps dropping off Wi-Fi.

  • 01

    Hardwired Or Battery

We tap into your existing doorbell wiring so the Ring stays charged forever, or we mount the battery model clean if you don't have a transformer at the door.

  • 02

    Flat-Rate Quotes

You'll know the price before we drill a hole. Chime bypass kits, transformer upgrades and angle wedges are all priced up front.

  • 03

    Set Up On Your Phone

We don't just mount it. We pair the device to your Wi-Fi, walk you through motion zones, and make sure the live view actually works before we leave.

The neighbor's tip

Ring Doorbell Install, Done The Right Way.

If a neighbor in Mulino called and asked who to hire for a Ring doorbell installation, here's exactly what we'd tell them. First, decide hardwired or battery. If your front door already has a wired doorbell button (almost every house in Oregon Cityand Canby built since the 1970s does), we strongly recommend the hardwired Ring. You never charge it, the video stays sharper because it can keep the radio on, and the existing chime inside the house still rings.

Second, the mounting spot matters more than people think. Ring doorbells have a wide field of view but they're aimed straight out from the wall. If your door is recessed inside a covered porch or set at an angle, you'll need a wedge kit to point the camera toward the walkway instead of the side of the house. We carry the wedges and pick the right one on site so you're not just watching cars roll by on the street.

Third, and this is the one homeowners get blindsided by, your Wi-Fi at the front door has to actually be strong. A doorbell on the far side of a brick wall, behind a metal storm door, or in a craftsman home in West Linn with plaster-and-lath walls is going to drop offline constantly. We test signal strength at the install spot before we mount, and we'll tell you honestly if you need a mesh node or a Ring Chime Pro extender before this is going to work right.

Good to know

Ring Doorbell Questions.

Do you only install Ring, or other video doorbells too?
We install pretty much every video doorbell on the market. Ring is the most popular request in Oregon City and West Linn, but we also install Google Nest Doorbell, Arlo, Eufy, Blink, SimpliSafe and Wyze. The process and pricing are basically the same. Tell us what you bought and we'll handle the install and the app setup.
Hardwired or battery, which should I get?
If you already have a wired doorbell button (almost every Mulino, Canby and Molalla home built after 1970 does), go hardwired. You never charge it and the video is more reliable. Battery models are perfect if your door has no existing wiring or you're renting and don't want to drill into the trim. We install either one.
Will my existing doorbell chime still work?
Usually yes. Older mechanical chimes (two metal bars) work with hardwired Ring out of the box, though sometimes we add a small chime kit inside the housing to keep the doorbell powered. Newer digital chimes need to be bypassed with a kit we carry. We open your chime cover, see what you have, and handle it.
What if my doorbell transformer isn't strong enough?
Some older homes around Molalla still have 10-volt transformers from the original construction. Ring and most video doorbells want at least 16 volts. If yours is undersized we'll swap the transformer at the garage or basement junction. It's a quick add-on and we quote it on the spot if needed.
Can you mount the doorbell at an angle so it sees the walkway?
Yes, this comes up a lot in West Linn craftsman homes and houses with recessed front entries. Ring sells wedge mounting kits that angle the camera 15 or 30 degrees toward the walkway. We carry common wedges on the truck and pick the right one when we look at your porch.
Will Ring work with my Wi-Fi at the front door?
That depends on the house. We check signal strength at the install spot before we mount. If your Wi-Fi is weak at the door (thick walls, brick exterior, router on the opposite end of the house) we'll tell you and recommend either a mesh node or a Ring Chime Pro extender. We don't mount a doorbell that's going to drop offline two days later.
Do you install outdoor security cameras too?
Yes. Ring Stick Up Cam, Ring Floodlight Cam, Nest Cam Outdoor, Arlo Pro, Reolink, anything similar. We mount the camera, run power if needed (or install it on battery), and walk you through the app setup including motion zones. Floodlight cameras that replace an existing porch light are an especially common request in Canby.
Can I have you install a doorbell I already bought online?
Absolutely, that's how most of our doorbell jobs go. Have it unboxed with the included hardware ready when we arrive. If we find missing parts or a damaged unit we'll flag it before we drill any holes so you can decide to reschedule or swap it out.
What's a reasonable price for a Ring doorbell install?
Most hardwired Ring installs start at $150 including chime bypass kit, basic wedge mount, app setup and Wi-Fi testing. Transformer upgrades, brand new wire runs to a chime location, or floodlight cameras are quoted on top of that. Text a photo of your current doorbell and we'll get you a number same day.
